Participants:

General Objectives:

To establish the social and technical infrastructure for an international, cooperative, Transboundary River water quality and quantity monitoring, data sharing and watershed management system among the Republics of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Specific objectives:

  • Increase technical capabilities (monitoring, analytical and communications) among partner countries
  • Cooperatively establish standard sampling, analysis and data management techniques for all partner countries
  • Establish data, GIS and model sharing system accessible to all partners via WWW
  • Establish social framework (i.e., annual international meetings) for whole-watershed management.


The general industry problems for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia
are transboundary transfer of pollution and incountry pollution of main water resources,
underground waters and Caspian Sea.
